Hi! My name is Makenna Gildersleeve, and I am so excited to be a Family Advocate here at First Light Child Advocacy Center! I am from Grand Island, Nebraska and graduated high school from Grand Island Northwest in 2023. In May 2025, I graduated from Grand Island Central Community College with an associate’s degree in criminal justice. I am continuing my education online through the University of Nebraska at Kearney with a major in Criminal Justice and a minor in Mental & Behavioral Health. When I have free time, I enjoy relaxing with friends and family, cooking, & reading. I love interacting & connecting with kids and strongly believe that we learn so much from them. My mission while working here is to provide support & compassion to victims and their non-offending caregiver(s) during a difficult time.
