Ruby Prado
SANE Nurse
(308) 385-5238
¡Hola! My name is Ruby Prado. I am originally from Los Angeles, CA, but was raised in Nebraska. I am a registered nurse in the emergency room at CHI St. Francis. As a sexual assault nurse examiner (SANE), I have specialized training to provide medical care and conduct forensic examinations for individuals who are victims of assault, abuse, and neglect. I assist in identifying, collecting, and preserving evidence. I collaborate with a robust interdisciplinary team to offer assistance to families throughout their trauma. I hold a Master of Science in Nursing with a specialization in Education. I also teach nursing students at Central Community College. I am bilingual in Spanish and English. I have a wild ten-year-old son that keeps me on my toes. Growing up, I dealt with prejudice because of my background, socio-economic status, and English not being my first language. I knew I wanted to work with families and patients who need help, especially those from disadvantaged backgrounds. My desire to help others comes from my life. In my spare time, I enjoy reading and making a mess in the kitchen. I love to travel and be outside. One fun fact about myself is that I was born on World Mental Health Day.
